Job Description

A national AmLaw firm is seeking a litigation associate (2-7 years) to join its Houston office within a well-established commercial litigation group. This role offers exposure to a wide range of complex business disputes, representing corporate clients across multiple industries in both state and federal courts.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling sophisticated commercial litigation matters such as breach of contract claims, business torts, partnership and shareholder disputes, financial or lending-related litigation, and construction-related matters. Candidates should be comfortable managing core litigation responsibilities, including drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, overseeing written discovery, preparing for hearings, and supporting matters through mediation, arbitration, and trial.

The practice represents a diverse client base ranging from mid-sized businesses to large national and international companies, as well as working across a variety of industries including financial services, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology. The group offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to work closely with experienced trial attorneys.

Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of commercial litigation experience
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Experience managing discovery and depositions
  • Ability to handle multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Texas Bar admission required
